New and Improved
CAS Iberia proudly announced our revived Tactical Series Katana, Wakizashi and Tanto received some much needed upgrades. Our new versions features have been upgraded from Kraton to diamond-checkered G10 slabs that are now removeable. This allows for disassembly for proper balde cleaning and maintenance. Our removeable handle slabs allow for replacements and future planned upgrades. The stainless steel tsuba (guard) and kurikata are now matte black. The handle has been more rounded for a comfortable grip, and the new diamond pattern grip allows for a more secure handling in wet conditions.
As far as blade geometry, we’ve remained faithful to the original on keeping its previous design influences the same. Our overall goal was making the Tactical Series highly functional and more tactical by removing unnecessary parts and features. Other previously unseen modifications have been made to the tang and the habaki construction to allow for the handle removal but were necessary for this function. Our intention is to expand the options available for customization and upgrades in the future for Tactical Series to allow for development and change for these beloved blades.
The "Sidearm of the Samurai" gets a serious update in our Tactical Wak, designed for strenuous outdoor use and protection. Based on the blade geometry and superb cutting ability of the CAS Hanwei Raptor series wakizashi but with full tang construction for ultimate strength, the Tactical Wak is equal to any required task and then some. The 5160 high-carbon spring steel blade is sharp as ever and the checkered Kraton handle provides a sure foul-weather grip. The fiberglass scabbard construction avoids water absorption and reduces carrying weight, while several lanyard holes and the included ParaCord provide carrying and backpack attachment options.
Please note: the current photos are of the approved protypes. Photos will be updated upon the arrival of the production models which shouldn't vary in appearance. The katana, wakizashi or tanto’s sageo (cord) on the saya (scabbard) may not be wrapped as pictured. Sageo color may vary.
