Damascus Sword Cane - Rosewood with Mother of Pearl Accents
For the uninitiated the tradition of sword canes originated from a time when it became unfashionable (or unlawful) for the social elite to carry a dress sword especially for personal protection. In true form of the late 18th and early 19th century, our Taiji Sword Cane possesses all the accoutrements of a high society sword cane plus a few modern improvements. The Taiji Sword Cane conceals a 22" Damascus steel rapier style blade that would impress the most discerning connoisseur. The pommel of the cane features a white and black-lip mother of pearl Yin & Yang expertly inlaid then encircled by a turbulent sea motif. The castings are accented with chrysanthemums, a Chinese symbol of nobility and elegance. With the press of a button from the 5” rosewood handle the blade is elegantly released from a gorgeous rosewood shaft that hides another surprise in the tailpiece. Twisting the knurled release reveals a 3 3/4" hollow ground utility by-knife ready for any task at hand. A unique addition to what is already an exceptional piece!
