The Great Helm was developed through the course of the 13th century. This reconstruction replicates the Pembroke helmet, made late in the period and dating from around 1300 AD, now in the Burrell Collection Glasgow. This style of helm was often worn in conjunction with a smaller, lighter helmet known as the Secret. Crafted in 14 gauge steel and fully padded, this helm provides excellent head protection for the weapons-contact re-enactor.
