European Sallet w/visor, Browplate, Bevor, 14G
European Sallet w/visor, Browplate, Bevor, 14G by GDFB
AB0471 - Medium
The sallet or salade was popular across much of Europe throughout the second half of the 15th century. This reconstruction from GDFB features a moveable visor (introduced late in the period to improve visibility), a reinforcing brow plate and a bevor for protection of the jaw and throat. This helm replicates an original piece found in the church at Witton-le-Wear in County Durham, England. Both the helm and the moveable visor are crafted in 14 gauge steel and the Sallet is fully wearable with an adjustable leather liner and chinstrap. Excellent head protection for the weapons-contact re-enactor. We also offer a wide selection of helmets and other protective clothing for the re-enactor
